Comprehensive ways of treating balance issues in adults for healthcare providers.
Service Description
In-person: 1 day of 8hrs each Audience: All healthcare providers working with persons having balance issues can benefit from this course. All courses are limited to 20-30 participants, enabling the instructor to spend quality time with each student via video or in person. Materials: All participants will receive a hard-copy spiral binder of the slides and handouts Prerequisites: There are no prerequisites to this course, however the Comprehensives ways of EVALUATING balance issues in Adults is strongly recommended. This is an intermediate - advanced level course. The course is lecture-based with a significant interactive lab component. Course description: Aiming to present a variety of therapeutic ideas designed to improve balance deficits, this course is an important complement to what is explored in the comprehensive assessment course. Based on the presenter’s broad experience and recent scientific findings, tangible and ready to use ideas will be presented. You will have fun learning all the creative ways we can make just about any patient be more stable and able, pertaining to their balance issues. Course Objectives: 1) Understand the principal theories of human movements 2) Understand the principals of motor learning and neuroplasticity 3) Understand principals of frequency, intensity and duration of treatment 4) Understand the principals of progression over time 5) Acquire the tools needed to develop personalized treatment plans 6) Practice the many fun and exciting balance exercises
